Hi! My name is Cassidy (she/her) and I am based at Midnight Tattoo in Portland, OR.
I specialize in fine-line black and grey tattoos and am most interested in tattooing script, ornamentals, animals, botanicals, sentimental objects, gothic and classic traditional tattoo imagery.
I firmly believe in open communication and not rushing the tattooing process; designs are always sent in advance so clients can have time to request changes. I allow extra time within appointment windows to ensure clients are absolutely confident with the design, size, placement and style of tattoo. I am a queer woman & Velvet Monkey will always be a safe space for all LGTBQ+ people, skin tones and bodies. If you have any questions about the tattooing process, or require specific accommodations during your appointment feel free to reach out to me.
My end goal is to ensure clients feel more at home in their skin. Client consent, safety, and comfort is my top priority. From initial consultation to the final artwork, open communication is the key to create a space where everyone feels safe, heard, and valued.

You are welcome to bring numbing cream and apply it in the studio, or ask for numbing cream while you are here to avoid it wearing off before your session is complete. Always notify your artist if you are planning to use numbing cream.
Please be aware that numbing cream may affect the tattooing and healing process as it pulls blood away from the surface of the skin, affecting the skin texture and quality of results. Using numbing cream may require more touch-ups in the future after healing. I recommend applying numbing cream after line-work is done (before shading) when the skin is broken for best absorption on tattoos that are larger or in sensitive areas.
